Short Update

Happy New Year to everyone.  We had a great Christmas in the sunshine and yes we miss our family, but we also love the warmie!  We have 10 couples here that we really enjoy getting together with, plus several neighbors that we also spend time with, and some others from Corvallis that come for a month or so.  We have an "Oregon" get together every year and Roger cooks Spanish Omelets.  The famous Swap Meet has divided and some venders moved down town, so now we have three of them we can visit.  Mexico calls for wonderful shrimp tacos and just plain entertainment, the desert calls for some 4-wheeling, bird watching, rock gathering??!! & cactus gazing, the lakes call for a cooling off spot, the casinos call for all your money if you just don't want to keep it,the sunshine calls for hiking, biking walking golfing soaking up, and the food everyone chips in with is WONDERFUL.  In a nut shell we are doing great, come see us!

and then went outside and thought, How can
I top this!

What a difference a day makes!

It was much nicer going past Orange trees and
Palm trees

This is how it looked going over the Siskiyou's
with snow on the sides and dry pavement
which is just the way we like it.

Then we came around a corner where you could
see Mt Shasta, and within a few minutes when
we got closer these clouds had come in. Cool!

Early Christmas

It is rare to get snow at the coast but as you can see it does happen. While we only got a couple of inches, Steven in Kennewick, WA received 10 to 12. Another reason to head South, but right now who knows which way we will be able to get out of Oregon. What a difference a couple of days make!

Sports Story

I just finished reading Heather's blog where she told about Faye and their Jazz game story, so I had to just send this photo and show you Dawn and her Beavers story. They got brave and took all except Charlie (she had a YW activity)to the OSU football game yesterday, and it was a good one to go to because they won. So here is Ian, Alice, Dawn & Carter having a chilly game day!

November

Wow it is hard to believe that we are only a few days away from Thanksgiving, which means that we are also only a week to 10 days from heading South for the Winter. It has already been snowing heavy in the mountains of Oregon, and today and tomorrow there is supposed to be some snow in some parts of the Valley. We are hoping that it doesn't get too serious about this snow thing until we are able to get over the passes in the Motor Home. We won't know which way we are going to head until probably the day before we leave, as it will all depend on the weather. It will be hard to leave our family and especially Darin & Dawns little angel Carter, who is six months old, which means he will probably be walking by the time we get back home. And we also have another little angel great grand-daughter, Emery (proud parents Seth & Evie) who is only 2 weeks old, and except for photos on the day she was born we haven't seen her in person yet, but hopefully on Thanksgiving. And by the time we come back home in the Spring she will be almost 6 months old, so thank heavens for email photo's. I love checking out the family blogs of my kids and Faye's kids, and if some other of the Fuhriman Clan have blogs let me know so I can enjoy those also. If the weather cooperates so Steven & family can get here (they have to come down the Columbia Gorge which can get wicked ugly)we will have around 32 for Thanksgiving. We now get together at Craig and Janet's and along with the Cole's we are going to have Scott Fuhriman's daughter Page and her new husband Logan join us, as they have moved to Oregon, and only a short distance from Curtis and family, so that will be great to have them. Logan got thrown into the Fuhriman Fire at the reunion this summer meeting all the Fuhriman's, plus several of the Cole's, so now we will give him a few more of the Cole's to get acquainted with, and refresh everyone again with what families are all about. Food & Fun right? RIGHT!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE..
