Darin brought Alice and Carter over one weekend and walked out without Alice's Sunday dress, so I got out this one of Mom's and with a little belt adjustment she was able to wear it. I think Mom would have been a teenager when she wore it, so looks like we can have Alice wear it now, and then for several years. Elaine showed the photo to Marigene and she said Avon would have made it because she made all their clothes, so what a fun bit of history, and neat memory for a great granddaughter

My Car!
Roger has been trying for a couple of years to get me to trade in my Yukon and his truck for a "Truck" and finally talked me in to it with the understanding that it will be "MY CAR" as he will have his little GEO tracker while in Oregon and the Jeep we leave in Yuma. So here is my car and it actually has more room in the back seat than the Yukon and has the running boards that retract. Needless to say his tool box did not go in the back because I got a cover instead. Our phones are synced so if you call while we are in the truck it comes through the speakers just like the On Star which I was sorry to not have in the Ford, but this is better because there is no extra charge...FUN!

Update
Looks like the Alaska trip has been postponed as we just had too many Family things happening in June and July. A grandson and a granddaughter with High School graduations, a new great grandson to get acquainted with, Niece and family coming to the coast for a visit, mountain bike race (100 miles around Mt Bachelor with son and nephew in Bend (we tend little kids while older ones are manning some of the comfort stations during the race) Corvallis to Coast bike ride for sons and grandson and 13 friends with all the families coming to our place for the "celebrate their arrival picnic" other family and friends coming to spend time at the beautiful Oregon Coast, and last but not least Deon's sciatica flaring up and making it really hard to sit for long periods. Guess we will have to fly up and see our Alaskan friends instead of drive up, or take another cruise etc. Seems like there was some problem with our blog address, but hopefully updating our info and changing our google password should have solved the problem. So friends and family come to the coast and see us, get some crabbing in and even in July and August some salmon fishing :)

Starting Home
Family and Friends: We will leave Yuma on Monday April 14th to start back home, going up to Page, AZ to visit grandson Sam and family and explore the sites around Lake Powell. Then up through Kanab, UT and some of the National Park system, Manti to see friends, then to Kaysville, Ogden, and Cache Valley. After we spend time with the Fuhriman Clan we will make a stop in Boise to see Roger's brother Hollis, Kennewick to see Steven's family, back to Oregon and to Monmouth to meet our new great grandson Archer and the Curtis Cole family, and into Corvallis to see Craig and Darin and families before finally arriving in South Beach. When we do get home we will be busy getting ready for our trip to Alaska which should be quite an adventure and we will post photos and stories of how that goes....

Bucket List
Got to check off one more thing on my bucket list by going to Long Beach and staying on the Queen Mary. Loved the water taps in the bathroom where you used to be able to have salt water or fresh water!
It has quite a history as it was refitted to be a troop carrier during the War and then returned to passenger service for several years before being bought by the city of
Long Beach and converted into a hotel. Fun Trip!

Help
Dear Friends and family:
I need help with posting my blogs and photo's. I can't seem to get the script to be under the photo's and get my photo's downloaded to where they are easy to insert. If any of you can help make it easy I would be posting more, so any advise will be appreciated as I know all of you have it down pat because of all the great photos and updates on all your blogs. Send me an email with your hints and helps....Thanks

Big Changes
We had a great trip down the Or & CA coast on Hwy 1 to Santa Barbara before heading inland to Arizona. Since we sold our MH and plan on driving to Alaska this summer we decided to look for a small travel trailer and this is what we found

Can't believe that it is now the middle of September and I haven't updated anything on my blog. But I have enjoyed reading all the fun family and friends blogs and knowing what your families are doing. Roger has been getting in some fishing although it has not been as good this year, but the salmon finally decided to show up so he has been catching a few. The crabbing went dead for the summer, but that is now also picking up and while I was in Corvallis tending grandkids he had a crab feed with a bunch of fishing friends. As all of the family will know my Dad passed away last month at the age of 97, and I had a great visit with him on the phone the day before he passed. We had a wonderful family get together to honor him and to celebrate his life as he didn't want us to be sad because he is where he has wanted to be for several years which is back with Mom, Reid, parents and loved ones. We will all miss him, but we are so blessed to have his example to keep on guiding us in the way we live our lives.
While we are back home in Oregon the 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren keep us busy and we love getting to see them and have them come visit us at the coast. We have also had many friends and family come and visit this summer and some even bring their RV's and spend a week or more, so that has been great as we love company. Weather has been great which has helped with some of the fixer upper projects and yard work that is just a part of everyone's life, but that keeps Roger busy and Deon happy!
