Puerto Penasco, Mexico

Had a great bus trip down to the Sea Of Cortez and the driver and his escort wife have been doing it for years so they knew all the fun places to go, see and do.  Wonderful food, and a bus at your beck and call to take you all around the area.
The view off our deck and looking back towards our hotel

The shrimp boats out getting our dinner

Too Bad, So Sad

In case you don't see a new post for a long time, just be aware that my computer crashed and burned BIG time, and it was not able to be repaired.  Since it was almost 5 years old we bit the bullet and bought a new one.  Thus and Therefore it may be several weeks before I learn how to get everything put back on that I need because it was loaded with the new Windows 8 which will REALLY take some time to learn how to navigate through.  And I don't have photo's downloaded, nor do I know how to get them on the blog when I do finally download them.  Any family and friends that check this, will you send me your blog addresses, so I can get them into my blog favorites again....Thanks  Hope to post again sometime????

Happy New Year

We are in Yuma and it is wonderful with the sunshine and warm weather.  A bit cooler the past two weeks, but hey it's sunny and 65-70 so not complaining.  We had a great Christmas with way too many "come have dinner with us" invites, but good food, good friends and good leftovers!  I put up a full size Christmas Tree for the first time in 10 years, as all I had before was a little 2ft one in the MH.  But now that we closed in our porch and made a nice room we were able to enjoy a tree again.  We went out for dinner at a wonderful Steak House with friends on New Years Eve, and then came home and went next door to visit with neighbors around a fire, and by the time we came home, watched the ball drop at 10PM in NYC we were ready for bed....Really great to be old farts right???RIGHT!!
We have a new church building and so they divided the snowbird branch, and instead of 500 at church we now have 200 or so which makes it much nicer, plus the chapel is only 7 miles one way instead of 22 & we all get to sit on Soft Seats!.
Had a great visit with our friends the Felters from St. George as they came through on their way to LA to fly to Hawaii for a nice vacation.
The Quail were delighted to see us back, and the sunsets are still just as awesome....
Photo's to follow as soon as I find out why it won't let me browse for the ones I want!

Home & Waiting to Leave

We came home from our trip to Canada where we had wonderful weather, and all of a sudden our wonderful weather decided to go South.  The first two days it rained Roger was ready to head to Yuma...  So we have been getting things put away, sorted through and cleaned up and ready to go.

The fishing is over, the crabbing is too wet and windy, but the oysters are just up the bay to purchase!  Good thing because my 97 year old Dad came up to visit with my brother, and he doesn't care what the weather as long as he can have oysters!  So we had those for dinner a couple of times so he could eat all he wanted.  Went to see the kids so they could have photo's with Great Grandpa, and some 5 generation photos also.

Canada Trip

Right now we are in Canada on a trip to see some places we have never been to, and after I downloaded my photos I realized that I have them backwards in order of where we have been.  So read first and then enjoy as you don't care when we were where right? Right!
Spent a couple of days driving up the Oregon coast and then up the Olympic Peninsula
where we stopped at the Quinault Lodge, and couldn't get a room but took some photo's of the back side and the view out over the lake.
Then on up to Port Angeles and then on the ferry to Victoria where of course we went to the Butchart Gardens and the Butterfly Garden
We spent three days there and walked the whole city, as our hotel was a few blocks from downtown.
Had dinner at an Italian restaurant and had the BEST meal we have had in a long time.
Got a kick out of the house boats on Fishermans Wharf and the sign at the end of one of the two rows of house boats.
 Out our room now

 Fisherman's Wharf

 Butchart Gardens

 Butterfly Garden

 Quinault Lodge
Then drove up to Nanaimo and met some friends who come to Yuma and live there, and then on to the ferry to Vancouver where we stayed overnight. And today Oct 2nd we drove through beautiful mountains and into the nice little town on the lake called Osoyoos?? and have a nice balcony in our hotel that looks out over the water

Alice & Carter

Darin & Dawn are having fun with their second family.
You have to watch Carter because he doesn't like clothes on that much
so this is about as much as he wants on when he is outside.
Thank goodness for their pop up swimming pool!

Alice started kindergarten & Carter will really miss her.  she is taking the Spanish Immersion program, so will have English in the morning & Spanish in the afternoon, so rather than just a half day at school, she will be there a full day.. Won't be a bit surprised to see her work on teaching Carter Spanish also!
